Scholarship Description
To be eligible for the Estelle Beaumont Ellison Scholarship, a student must be a full-time student, of good moral character, exhibit academic excellence (based on the ability of each student), evidence financial need, and regularly participate in a Christian church. Applicants are not required to be a member of Christ Episcopal Church, however, if an applicant is not a member, a reference from a member is required. All applicants must also be residents of the greater San Antonio area. Dollar amounts will vary.ADVERTISEMENT
The criteria for consideration are moral character, academic excellence (no minimum grades or test scores are required – personal motivation is recognized as equally important as grades), financial need, and regular participation in the Christian community. Applicants must be residents of the greater San Antonio area and be full-time students. Seminary applicants must be canonically resident in the Diocese of West Texas and attending an Episcopal seminary in the United States. Applicants must be between 14 and 30 years of age, except for seminary applicants. Awards are for one year only, but an application for renewal is available. Awards are not available to students attending for-profit or on-line institutions.
