Scholarship Description
The American Statistical Association (ASA) is the world’s largest community of statisticians, the “Big Tent for Statistics.” It is the second-oldest, continuously operating professional association in the country. Since it was founded in Boston in 1839, the ASA has supported excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science through the following: meetings, member services, education, publications, advocacy and accreditation. Our members serve in industry, government, and academia in more than 90 countries, advancing research and promoting sound statistical practice to inform public policy and improve human welfare.ADVERTISEMENT
Each year, an outstanding graduate student in survey statistics is awarded the Edward C. Bryant Scholarship to help support the student's graduate education. One scholarship recipient is selected annually. Honorees receive a certificate and cash prize of $2,500. The committee chooses the recipient based on their potential to contribute to survey statistics, applied experience in survey statistics and performance in graduate school. Each applicant should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the committee.
