Scholarship Description
Scholarships are a form of gift aid and do not need to be repaid. Continuing and admitted students who submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are automatically considered for a wide range of scholarships awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Even if you believe you will not qualify for need-based financial aid, it is still important to file the application, since some merit scholarships also have a need-based component.ADVERTISEMENT
Rutgers is a sponsoring institution for students selected by the National Merit Scholarship Committee to receive the College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship Award ($1,000 per year, renewable). This award is valid for four years of undergraduate study with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average. To qualify, National Merit finalists must designate Rutgers University as their first choice on the National Merit Scholarship application. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider’s website.
