Scholarship Description
The Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship is available to any graduating senior from a public or private high school in Arkansas. The student must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and must major in music with emphasis in choral or vocal performance at an accredited four-year institution of higher education. A high school transcript must accompany the application to document the grade point average.ADVERTISEMENT
The student applicant must also be enrolled in the choral music program (curriculum) at the high school in which he or she attends. The $2,000 music scholarship award will be paid directly to the student upon verification of college enrollment. All applicants are required to attend an audition and interview at the end of January at St. James United Methodist Church, located at 321 Pleasant Valley Road in Little Rock. The applicant will perform (from the classical genre) two selections of contrasting styles. It is requested that the applicants bring their own accompanists. If not able, please send music ahead for ACS accompanist.
