Administered through the Office of Admission, USC Merit Scholarships require students to apply for admission to the university by the December 1 deadline. All students who submit a complete application will be automatically considered for a scholarship. Ranging in value from a few thousand dollars up to full tuition, merit scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, service and talent

For the University of Southern California Presidential Scholarship, competitive applicants will be at the top of the applicant pool with respect to academic achievement. In addition to academic criteria, candidates’ talent, perseverance, innovation, involvement and leadership are considered. This award is open to incoming freshmen, and it covers half of tuition.
