Scholarship Description
Conserve Wildlife Foundation invites high school students from across the state to submit an original social media campaign showing why it is important to protect wildlife in New Jersey. The fun and educational "Species on the Edge 2.0" Social Media Contest capitalizes on high school students' expertise with social media platforms and provides them with the opportunity to showcase their talent, creativity, and love of nature. The contest helps to develop students' experience. All entries will be eligible to win a day in the field with a wildlife biologist.ADVERTISEMENT
Students will create their own original content (for example video, text, photograph, or computer graphic) or utilize existing Conserve Wildlife Foundation content to create a series of posts focusing on one of New Jersey’s vulnerable species that CWF helps protect. The contest helps to develop students’ experience in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) and apply critical thinking and project management skills. Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey (CWF) works to protect New Jersey’s rare and imperiled wildlife and the habitats they depend on through field research, habitat restoration, environmental education, and community engagement. Since the early 1990s, CWF scientists and educators have helped conserve and protect a variety of at-risk species of wildlife in New Jersey, the most densely populated state in the nation.
