Wayne State University's nationally acclaimed Journalism Institute for Media Diversity trains high-achieving students for careers in media. The institute offers scholarships for students to study journalism, public relations or radio and television production at Wayne State. Along with their studies, students in this program work as interns at local news and public relations agencies. Members of racial, ethnic and other underrepresented groups are particularly urged to apply as are those interested in studying the importance of diversity in the nation's media to this country's future well being. Applicants must have a superior scholastic record as well as a record of involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service.
