Scholarship Description

The Drexel University Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing program is pleased to announce a full tuition scholarship from the MFA Gift Fund for Marginalized Writers. The scholarship is generously funded by an anonymous donor, for one member of the 2023 entering cohort. The fund’s goal is to support diverse voices and diverse literature by supporting writers whose personal experiences of marginalization inform their literary pursuits. The fund aims to directly benefit and serve writers impacted by a variety of difficult circumstances.

Examples of marginalized backgrounds or experiences include full or partial paralysis, pediatric cancer, disability resulting from military service, cystic fibrosis or other severe long term medical condition/disability, terminal Illness, recovery from drug or alcohol abuse, homelessness, foster care, and food insecurity. The scholarship is reserved for incoming Drexel University Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing students only. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees at Drexel University.
