Born one year after New Mexico was admitted to the Union, Carl Scott called New Mexico home for 90 years. A graduate of New Mexico Military Institute, Mr. Scott served in World War II. After suffering an injury and becoming disabled, he returned to New Mexico to work as an engineer for the Civil Service.

Through his estate, he established a program to assist New Mexico residents from Quay County to continue their post-secondary education.
