Scholarship Description

CTASLA offers scholarships to students to encourage awareness and education in the field of landscape architecture. Scholarship applicants must be legal residents of the State of Connecticut. Additional information can be found in each scholarship's application form.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a legal resident of the State of Connecticut and be enrolled in an accredited landscape architecture program (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Graduating seniors may apply if they have been accepted into a qualifying graduate program for the following Fall.
  • Prior award recipients may reapply.

Scholarship Amount

  • The scholarship awarded will be up to $2,500 which will be disbursed as a one-time payment, in August, directly to the student’s accepted university.
  • At the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, more than one award may be disbursed based on the number of qualified applicants.

Procedures and Requirements

  1. The student must complete the application personally and completely.
  2. Applications must be received no later than 5PM April 26th
  3. Attach a transcript of your high school or college grades covering your past semesters up to the semester of submission. The transcript need not be “official.”
  4. Provide a brief statement that clearly states why you desire this financial aid, and why you have chosen Landscape Architecture as your field of study. This statement must be signed by the applicant.
  5. Provide one signed recommendation letter from a person who knows you personally and can explain why you would succeed in this course of study. No other recommendation orendorsement is required.

The Connecticut Chapter of ASLA is a professional association of over 200 landscape architects, associates and allied professional members across the state. Echoing the mission of our national organization, the American Society of Landscape Architects, CTASLA aims to lead, educate and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning and artful design of our cultural and natural environments.
