Scholarship Description
To be eligible for the Paula Kovarick Segalman Family Scholarship, applicants must: have a parent or legal guardian currently battling ALS or who has passed away from the disease; be a legal resident of Washington, D.C, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina or Northern Ohio; have an annual household income of less than $100,000; have a 2.5 GPA; and attend or be accepted to school full-time (as defined by the educational institution) at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or not-for-profit vocational-technical school.ADVERTISEMENT
Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with an official transcript of grades, two letters of recommendation (personal and academic) and a 500-word essay describing how ALS has impacted them. Checks will be mailed directly to the school named in the student’s application. Payments will be made in two installments, split evenly over two semesters. Scholarships will be awarded based on availability of funds. All applicants will be notified whether or not they are the recipient by August 1st.
