Scholarship Description
The Ohio News Media Foundation, in alignment with its mission of achieving the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in all phases of journalism and newspaper publishing, awards scholarships to high school and collegiate students annually. The Ohio News Media Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors and college students majoring in newspaper related programs. The Ohio News Media Association was established in 1933 as the the Ohio Newspaper Association, which formally consolidated the activities of two loosely-knit groups of publishers which had existed since the late 1800’s — The Buckeye Press Association for weekly newspapers and The Associated Ohio Dailies. These forerunner organizations banded together to share trade information and to jointly sell advertising.
