Scholarship Description
To be considered for the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship, an applicant must be currently applying for entrance into cosmetology/barber School, or be actively enrolled in a cosmetology/barber program. If you graduate from cosmetology or barber school between the dates of January 1st through August 31st of the current award year, you are not eligible. Esthetician or nail training students are also not eligible. All applicants are notified by email and/or postal mail of their status by the end of September.ADVERTISEMENT
The application will ask for the student's basic information, educational resume, work history, financial status and information about the cosmetology school. Apart from completing the application, you must also submit: essays to numerous questions (please try to limit your responses for each question to 250 words); and at least two letters of recommendation (your letters of recommendation should come from an employer, instructor, counselor, or someone qualified to offer testimony of your character). Though optional, a a copy of your cosmetology/barber school’s notice of acceptance into their program is also appreciated.
