Calling all students and videomakers age 13-25! Celebrated actress/filmmaker Joan Chen and the 1990 Institute invite you to enter our $30K Youth Voices on China Video Contest, themed "China: Collected Stories". Inspired by the outstanding storytelling of NPR StoryCorps and Humans of New York, we seek video entries of 2-3 minutes' length that share powerful, personal stories of life in mainland China, through the lens of recent mainland China residents and expats. Videos featuring Americans or persons of other nationalities who travel frequently there are also welcome. All videos must be based on interview content from at least one person who can share compelling personal experiences with mainland China and its rapidly changing environment. Videos may be done in English and/or Mandarin. Get creative and make us laugh, cry, smile or awed! Enter to win some of our $30,000 in total prizes, from cash to drones & video gear, mentorship lunches, and a Yunnan China trip. Finalists will also earn a trip to our YVOC Video Festival + Awards bash in San Francisco to debut the final cut of their videos, done with input with industry executives -- our Youth Voices Coaches.
