Fall is here, and so are the deadlines for these amazing October scholarships. There are over 100 scholarships due in October, but we picked out our favorite choices and the ones we think will appeal to the most students. Don't miss the full list of October college scholarships.

October Scholarships for Anyone

  • Rhodes Scholarship: Rhodes Scholars are chosen not only for their outstanding scholarly achievements but for their character and commitment to the greater good. Each year 32 young students from the United States are selected as Rhodes Scholars and are then able to commence their studies in Oxford in October.
  • Stantec Equity & Diversity Scholarship: The Stantec Equity & Diversity Scholarship will award $200,000 annually to historically underrepresented persons, including Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) groups. The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the specific needs articulated by applicants, ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 in award money. You can also earn a chance of a paid internship to help further your experience and college tuition.
  • Coca-Cola Scholarship: The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is a huge opportunity for graduating high school seniors. The Foundation selects 150 students each year based on their achievements and capacity to lead and serve their schools and communities.
  • VFW Voice of Democracy Competition: Here’s a new type of essay for you - an audio essay. High school students (all grades welcome) are invited to express themselves in a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the winner’s choice of an American university or vocational school. Additional winners will win a scholarship ranging from $1,000-16,000.
  • National Constitution Bee: Ready to impress with your knowledge of the Constitution and Bill of Rights? While the questions of this competition are geared towards 11th and 12th graders, all students in grades 8 through 12 are eligible to participate. Winners can earn up to $10,000, a trophy, and a letter of recommendation from the judging panel.
  • National Rice Month Scholarship Contest: Did you know that September is National Rice Month? Even more interesting, about 85 percent of the rice we consume in the States is grown right here on family farms across six states. Join the rice celebration fun by creating an original, short (3 minutes or less) video about U.S. rice, National Rice Month, and the importance of rice to you, your state, or the world in general. Submissions are due at the end of October.

October Scholarships to Study Abroad

  • AIFS-HACU Scholarship - Semester Study Abroad: AIFS is one of the top providers of study abroad programs. AIFS partnered with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), to offer Hispanic students from HACU member institutions a scholarship of up to 50% of their semester or summer program fee. This is the perfect chance to accomplish your college and travel dreams for less.

Music Scholarships with Deadlines in October

  • Mark Zinger Memorial Foundation Scholarship: Violinists of all nationalities between the ages of 17-23 are welcome to apply for a chance to win $2,500 from the Mark Zinger Memorial Foundation Scholarship. Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in music, though those with a double-major with music and another subject are also eligible for the award.
  • Annual Sphinx Competition: This national competition is for Black and Latinx classical string players (violin, viola, cello, or double bass). Top performers will win scholarship money and receive mentorship from established professional musicians. To apply, musicians must submit a video audition, a current biography, a repertoire list, and a high-resolution headshot.

Major-Specific Scholarships for October

  • The Gen.G Foundation: Gamers unite! The future of gaming is in your hands and The Gen.G Foundation wants to support that. Students pursuing degrees and/or careers in gaming, esports, entrepreneurship, journalism, or content creation are eligible to apply.
  • BEA Abe Voron Award: For students pursuing a career in the radio industry, the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) is offering up to $3,000 to applicants that show academic excellence and potential in the field.
