There's no better time to apply for scholarships than when you aren't inundated with school, athletic and other responsibilities. That means that this upcoming spring break is probably your best opportunity at applying for and winning scholarships!

We are currently in the midst of the peak scholarship application season, with many applications due very soon. If you have not yet secured any (or not enough) scholarships, this is the perfect opportunity to begin. If you are pressed for time, consider applying for easy scholarships. Or, if you are staying home over spring break, consider investing a bit more time and energy into largest dollar scholarships or essay scholarships. Use your time wisely over this coming spring break by applying for these awards:

Linda Craig Memorial Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,500
Deadline: April 15
Scholarship Description: Linda Craig Memorial scholarships are for undergraduate college students presently enrolled in an Indiana college or university with an academic major in medicine, sports medicine, physical therapy and/or related disciplines.

Sandy Schenker Capell Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,500
Deadline: April 6
Scholarship Description: The Sandy Schenker Capell Scholarship is awarded each year to a Houston area high school senior interested in a career in media and to someone who represents the qualities that Sandy exuded in her daily life.

Ishaq Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: $15,000
Deadline: April 30
Scholarship Description: Ishaq Foundation Scholarships are for applicants who demonstrate commitment to their education and a passion for the Afghan-American community.

AGL Over the Rainbow Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: April 30
Scholarship Description: AGL Over the Rainbow Scholarships are awarded to upcoming high school graduates who are entering college to study fine & performing arts. Applicants must submit a short video or sample of their highlighted performances or artwork.

Schaefer Outfitter Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: April 30
Scholarship Description: The Schaefer Outfitter Scholarship Program was created in support of those who plan to pursue studies in agriculture. You can apply for this scholarship if you are either a senior high-school student attending college in the upcoming fall or spring semester, or an undergraduate student who is currently enrolled in college.

The Power of Children Awards: Making A Difference

Award Amount: $2,000
Deadline: April 13
Scholarship Description: The Annual Power of Children Awards recognize six extraordinary young change agents (grades 6-11) from around the country who are making significant contributions to their communities and the world through projects they created. Winners will receive things, including a $2,000 grant to a school in Indiana.

George A. Strait Minority Scholarship

Award Amount: Varies
Deadline: April 1
Scholarship Description: George A. Strait Minority Scholarships are awarded to college graduates with meaningful law library experience who are members of a minority group, are degree candidates in an accredited library or law school, and who intend to have a career in law librarianship.

Diabetes Scholars College Scholarships

Award Amount: $5,000
Deadline: April 15
Scholarship Description: Diabetes Scholars offer scholarships open to high school seniors headed to college/university living with Type 1 diabetes. We also offer a set of scholarships with unique parameters like prospective major, geographic location, or excellence in athletics or the arts.

Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective Scholarship

Award Amount: $500
Deadline: April 30
Scholarship Description: Applicants for the Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective Scholarship must be a resident of Connecticut who has been accepted for studies at an accredited two year or four-year college or university for the coming academic year for the purpose of completing an associate or bachelor's degree program. Must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ), or be from an LGBTQ household/family.

Dollars 4 Tic Scholars Tourette Syndrome Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000
Deadline: April 15
Scholarship Description: In order to qualify for the Dollars 4 Tic Scholars Tourette Syndrome Scholarship, applicants must have a letter of diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome, as well as a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities and leadership roles descriptions, community involvement/community service descriptions, academic accomplishments or honors and work experience, etc.
