For a Bright Future Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Boynton Beach, Florida. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting underprivileged youth with outstanding achievement in their college and career pursuits. Founded by Louis Hernandez Jr., the Foundation provides a variety of scholarships, internships, and educational programs. Current scholarships are available in the areas of youth leadership development, education, healthcare, STEM, and the arts.

By completing one application, minority high school and college students with a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible for one of five scholarships up to $10,000. Awards are granted based on the student’s need and university selection. Applications are open until May 30th for these scholarships: Healthcare Scholarship, Semper Fi “Honor” Scholarship, Global Scholarship, Dr. Emma Scholarship, and Step Up Scholarship.

Hernandez’s personal experiences guide his mission to support deserving, underprivileged young people and provide them with the resources they need to tackle the social and economic issues impacting their communities. Through these efforts, Hernandez hopes to bridge the opportunity gaps that affect minority students who come from low-income or single-parent backgrounds.

In early April, the Foundation raised $625,000 during their Celebration Event in Miami. This was the first in-person event hosted by the Foundation since 2019. More than 40 sponsors supported the Foundation’s mission to reach more students. Among these sponsors are Google Cloud, Black Dragon Capital, and PayMaple.

Hernandez says, "I'm very humbled to have such accomplished leaders, caring people and recognized organizations join our cause and give, support, and inspire those in need. I've always felt we have a responsibility to support those who need it most. I'm so proud of the foundation's board of directors, the volunteers, and especially the Events and Fundraising committee who have done an incredible job. With this support, we'll be able to help even more children through our many programs. It's exciting!"

Students who fit the criteria for any of these scholarships are encouraged to apply online before the deadline, May 30, 2022. Don’t miss your chance to be considered for one of these amazing opportunities!
