Scholarship Description: When applying for NSHSS Earth Day Awards, applicants are asked to submit details about an environmental project that they are currently working on, or one that will be initiated for Earth Day in their home, school, and/or community. Requirements include a written explanation of the project, including the process, its impact, and how it will impact the future. Submissions should be supplemented with a creative component, such as a video, painting, drawing, or collage that highlights the project.

Scholarship Description: The 9/11 Promise provides scholarships to qualified children of first responders and military service members who have been killed or injured and are unable to hold employment. Applicants must be children of a fallen first responder or military service member or children of a first responder or military service member certified as not being able to work. Children must currently be under the age of 25 and must have a high school diploma or equivalency, or in the final year of high school or currently enrolled at or accepted to pursue trade, undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited trade school, college or university.

Scholarship Description: The Don't mess with Texas Scholarship recognizes the achievements of high school seniors who have taken a leadership role to prevent litter in their school and/or community. The contest is open to students ages 14-22.

Scholarship Description: The Black Girl 44 Scholarship was created by former Obama White House alum Deesha Dyer and includes contributions from more than 55 Black/African-American women who worked in the Obama White House. This private and independent initiative will award three $1,500 scholarships to Black/African-American women college students who have earned a Washington, D.C. internship that relates to policy, community engagement, community service, advocacy, global relations or politics.

Scholarship Description: The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House in Baltimore Maryland is a National Historic Landmark and the historic home of Mary Pickersgill, the craftswoman of the Star-Spangled Banner Flag that flew over Ft.McHenry during the War of 1812 and inspired Francis Scott Key's words to the National Anthem. On Flag Day, Friday, June 14th, the Flag House will award the seventh annual Flag House Scholar Award and a scholarship in the amount of $1,812 to a Maryland high school senior to put toward the college of his/her choice. Williams Soil Conservation Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of SWCS who are currently employed, but who wish to improve their technical or administrative competence in a conservation-related field through coursework at an accredited college or through a program of special study. Must demonstrate financial need and completed at least one year of full-time employment in a natural resource conservation endeavor.
